1.
Increased Membership
The
number of companies in the MMC was 12 when the MMC started
in 2003. Now, in March 2005, the MMC has grown and now
includes 98 companies. This increase meets our expectations.
2.
Increased Global Representation
Also,
the number of overseas members is constantly growing;
12 companies in Asia, 10 in North America, and 6 in Europe.
MECHATROLINK is becoming a globally accepted motion network
as our activities are spreading all over the world.

3.
Active Promotion (at Exhibitions and Fairs)
MMC
participated as an exhibitor at the System Control Fair
(SCF), Semicon Japan 2003, and Semicon Japan 2004 where
machines using the products of MMC members were used in
demonstrations. We also took part in some private shows
upon request from MMC members; these shows attracted people
engaged in a variety of activities.
4.
Increased User Choices
Members
of the MMC have been developing modules for use with MECHATROLINK
in order to add motion functions to general-purpose products
such as PLCs, and also developing a system so that MECHATROLINK
can be used in each member's facility for improved performance
and higher level functions.
As the number of members increases, more and more products
for use with MECHATROLINK are being released, so users
better enjoy the merits of using MECHATROLINK.
5.
Membership Support
The
MMC started as a baby walking with small, unsteady steps
but now the MMC is growing. The MMC is walking steadily
towards the goal of becoming the de facto standard for
motion networks with the increase in the number of MECHATROLINK-related
products. With deep gratitude, I would like to thank the
members who support the MMC as well as all of the people
and companies who use MECHATROLINK.
