The MECHATROLINK Members Association general meeting was held at Mita NN Hall in Tokyo, on Friday, June 18, 2010. Despite the typically overcast rainy season, the meeting was a success with a large turnout.

The meeting started with a welcome speech by Hiroshi Ogasawara, the President of the Executive Committee of the MMA. Takeshi Tanaka, the General Secretary of the MMA, then reported on the activities of FY 2009 and activity plans for FY 2010. This was followed by a FY 2009 financial report by the MMA Secretariat. Thereafter, the Marketing group reported on the publication of compiled application examples and the technological exchanges conducted by the customer visit program.
Lectures by two guest speakers followed the general meeting. The first speaker, Tomofumi Amano, Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo, gave a speech titled, "Marketing Strategies and Manufacturing for China and Other Emerging Markets in Asia." The participants listened intently to his clear-cut presentation of the interesting topics.
The second guest speaker was Takehiro Nakayama from Sankyo Seisakusho Co. In his speech titled "Integrated System for Drug Testing and Its Market Trends," he gave a detailed explanation including many examples and features.
After the lectures, five MMA member companies introduced their new products compatible with MECHATROLINK, including description of their characteristics and advantageous features. Actual devices were displayed and brochures were offered at the rear of the hall. Finally, the future plans for MECHATROLINK were presented, which completed the general meeting and the lectures.

Thereafter, the reception was held and a friendly and informal exchange was promoted between the participating members.
The MMA will continue to promote activities in the pursuit of making MECHATROLINK a standard network.
