The MECHARTOLINK Members Association general meeting was held at Mita NN Hall in Tokyo, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
Despite the strong sunshine after the rain, the meeting was a success with 118 participants from 54 member companies.

The meeting started with a welcome speech by Hiroshi Ogasawara, the president of the Executive Committee of the MMA, Takeshi Tanaka, the General Secretary of the MMA, then reported on the activities of FY 2010 and activity plans for FY 2011. This was followed by a FY 2010 financial report by the MMA Secretariat.　Thereafter, the Marketing group reported on the MECHATROLINK Fairs and announced an invitation to new members to join the MMA for FY2011 activity plans to realize success.

Two special lectures followed the general meeting. The first speaker, Keisuke Shinoda from AMADA Co., Ltd., gave a speech titled "The Latest Bending System". In his speech, he explained, in an easy to understand way, the advantages and disadvantages of automation, the application examples, the latest information, and the future trend. The participants listened intently to his clear-cut presentation of the interesting topics. The second speaker was Yasuhiro Miyamoto from YASKAWA ELECTRIC CORPORATION. In his speech titled "Wind Power Market Trends and Yaskawa's Approach", he explained the wind power systems that currently interest people the most. The theme was well-timed since it is directly concerned with the energy problem Japan is actually facing to.

After the lectures, three MMA member companies introduced their new products compatible with MECHATROLINK.
Following the introduction of new products, the newly organized Safety group reported on its activities and presented the safety policy. We believe that every participant understood the safe network the MECHATROLINK aims to.
Finally, the future plans for MECHATROLINK were presented, which completed the general meeting and the lectures.

Thereafter, many participants attended the reception. The reception surely offered once-a-year opportunity to exchange information between the MMA members. The meeting concluded on a high note.

Preparing occasions to exchange information with MMA member companies, the MMA will continue to promote worldwide activities in the pursuit of making MECHATROLINK a standard network.
